Flash Flood Watch
Issued by the National Weather Service at 12:07 PM CST on January 6, 2009

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect until 4 PM CST this
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of north central Louisiana and northwest Louisiana...
including the following areas... in north central Louisiana...
Caldwell... Grant... Jackson... La Salle... Lincoln... Ouachita...
Union la and Winn. In northwest Louisiana... Natchitoches and
Sabine la.

* Until 4 PM CST this afternoon

* periods of rain with possibly a few embedded thunderstorms will
continue across the southern and eastern sections of
northcentral Louisiana... through mid afternoon. Widespread
rainfall amounts of an inch and a half to two and a half inches
have fallen over the area since Monday afternoon over already
saturated grounds. Additional rainfall amounts up to a half inch
are likely... but should thunderstorms develop and move north
over the area this afternoon... rainfall amounts of up to an
inch will be possible... which could lead to localized flash
flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued. Turn around... dont drown.
