Dense Fog Advisory
Issued by the National Weather Service at 6:12 PM CST on March 11, 2010

... Dense fog advisory now in effect until 6 am CST Friday...

The dense fog advisory is now in effect until 6 am CST Friday.

Areas of dense sea fog will move inland across Jefferson County
and western portions of Cameron Parish... reducing visibilities to
less than one mile and frequently lowering to one quarter of a
mile or less. Reports from the southeast Texas regional Airport
indicate rapidly lowering visibilities just south and east of the
Airport. The fog is expected to continue moving inland... affecting
Port Arthur... Beaumont and Nederland as well as other locations
south of I-10. Motorists are encouraged to use caution while
driving this evening as visibilities can rapidly
fluctuate... sometimes dropping to a few hundred feet.

The fog is expected to gradually dissipate late tonight as drier
air moves into the region.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead
of you.
