Issued by the National Weather Service at 7:49 PM CST on March 10, 2010
The Flood Warning continues for
the Navasota river near Normangee
* from Thursday morning until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 700 PM Wednesday the stage was 14.3 feet
* minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet
* forecast... the river was above banks this evening and rising and
is expected rise above flood stage on Thursday and crest around
16 feet late Friday.
* At 15.0 feet... minor lowland flooding begins as water escapes the
Main Channel and inundates the flood plain. At 17.0 feet... there
is widespread inundation of the flood plain in the vicinity of the
gage with the river more than 1 mile wide. Long trussel Road in
northeast Brazos County below State Highway 21 is threatened.
